The Breakfast of Science Champions offers Columbus City Schools middle school students the opportunity to explore science, math, and engineering at The Ohio State University in a program designed especially for them. Students spend a morning on campus and enjoy breakfast with faculty and graduate students from sciences, mathematics, and engineering to learn about career opportunities and attending college. Students then tour labs and participate in a variety of activities.
In November 2017, CCBBI partnered with the Department of Psychology to organize and host students from Westmoor Middle School, who learned about the anatomy and functions of the human brain by creating a model human brain from clay. The students toured the CCBBI facility and handled human brain and rat brain specimens. STEM Breakfast of Science Champions is an excellent opportunity for the CCBBI community to support the University's objective of advancing the STEM Outreach initiative.
