Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Gorka Lab

The Gorka Lab uses psychophysiological and neuroimaging methods to study connections between the brain and behavior. We utilize techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalopraphy (EEG), and startle eyeblink electromyography (EMG). We are broadly interested in stress reactivity, and why people differ in their abilities to tolerate and cope with stress. We apply our lab paradigms and research tools to a variety of important empirical questions and topics ranging from addiction, anxiety, trauma, and suicide.
