Research Day 2021

Annual Research Day and CCBBI 10th Anniversary Celebration

Thank you to everyone who attended Research Day in 2021!

With over 100 attendees participating in-person or virtually, 16 poster presentations from students, four faculty oral presentations, and a keynote address from Dr. Marie Banich, who literally wrote the book on Cognitive Neuroscience, Research Day was a tremendous success! We would especially like to thank the numerous people who worked on this event and helped see it to fruition while dealing with numerous uncertainties along the way!

Tim

The award for best oral presentation was earned by Tim Broom. Tim is a PhD student in Dr. Wagner's lab, and his presentation dealt with the social surrogacy hypothesis and its relationship to fictional characters, loneliness, and the desire for belonging. Congratulations Tim!

Charlie

The award for best poster presentation was earned by Charlie Ferris, a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Way's lab. Charlie's poster dealt with how youth marijuana usage may predict hyperactivation of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex during high working memory load. Congratulations Charlie!
